Rocky Ridge Farm was established in 1862 as a farmstead that stretched from the Androscoggin River and up the southern facing side of Canton Mountain. The 3 main ridges of the farm are surrounded by seasonal dry brooks and springs that make an ideal area for grazing cattle and other livestock.

Although the farm has an abundance of rockwall boundaries and rock piles, there is also a unique lay of the land that makes for amazing views and plenty of room to roam for the cattle and people alike.

In the past the Ridges have grown hay, strawberries, green beans, and even produced a small apple orchard and sugar bush. Horse drawn teams would haul logs from the woods, hay from the fields and sap from the sugar bush for many years. Food and wood produced from this land has supported 5 generations of families to date, with many more to come we hope!

There have been many different types of food produced on these Ridges, but the importance of taking care of the land and animals has always and still remains at the top of the priority list.

We welcome visitors to enjoy the views and animals and ask questions about the farm.
